I'm just here to absooorb. (2025)

This is a multisensory participatory work, which I ran everyday over the graduate show period between May 30 - June 6, 2025.

In each session, max. 4 people joined in shared moment of imagination, drawn towards the flow and continuity of clouds. Through my spoken guidance, those joined were invited to engage in simple conscious activities, such as balancing hand movements, observing steam, and eating a small amount of rice while seated. The activity focused on imagining the continuity and constant movements of the water vapours while placing the heart close to the imagined human connections across the sky and air.

Although I facilitated with the step-by-step prompts I prepared with intentions, I adjusted the way I talked through, in response to the experience of different groups of individuals gathered in each session.

The ceramic pieces used for the balancing activity and rice-eating carried a conceptual context - that the sum of the pieces and two small bites of rice times the number of people shared the activity together equals the weight of one heart.
